it's a new year and the winds of change are blowing again

it's a new year and the winds of change are blowing again

Every so often, the winds of change blow in our lives and shake shit up a bit....and I absolutely love it.  :)  Change excites me.  Some people fear change and resist it.  Not me.  I often run forward, smashing into it.  Sometimes I come away bruised and dusty with my hair all a mess but truthfully, I love every minute of it.  Without change, we're stagnant and that's boring. So with the new year, we're seeing some changes.  I'll be adding a new line of herbal salves, healing balms and infusions.  I've always been drawn to infusions and herbal concoctions...

i'd like to take a moment to talk about seitan

For those who are unaware, seitan (pronounced say-tahn or satan, for those who get a giggle from saying "satan tacos" like we do) is known in vegetarian and vegan circles as "wheat meat" and is made from vital wheat gluten.  It's been around for ages and has been a staple, not only for those of the vegetarian/vegan persuasion but people all over the world from Buddhist monks to Russian wheat farmers. ingredient spotlight: tamanu (foraha) oil

Today's Ingredient Spotlight is on Tamanu or Foraha oil.  The tamanu tree is native to Southeast Asia and the Polynesian Islands where people have been using it for years for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antibiotic, antioxidant and skin healing properties.  It's great on scrapes and bruises and is known to help with scaring, acne, eczema, psoriasis, stretch marks and dark spots (hyperpigmentation).   We absolutely *love* Tamanu oil around here and have featured it in our Superfruit Facial Serum which is great for crow's feet, dark spots, smoothing fine lines and rejuvenating tired, dull skin.  Who doesn't need that?!?  :) In other news...
